Welcome to High Family History!
Spanning nearly 20 generations, seven centuries, and totaling close to 1,900 pages across nine volumes,
High Family History is the result of years of dedicated research into the Swedish American ancestry of the
High family. This massive anthology begins with the story of the 19th century patriarch and matriarch of the
High family and leads back in time to medieval nobility in 13th century Sweden.
Timeline of My Life
- 1978 I, Jeffrey M. High, was born on January 12th in Mankato, Minnesota.
- 2006 I began my journey into the field of genealogy:
- 2007 I completed work on "The High Family: 1726-2007,* a 600+ page work on my paternal grandfather's side of the family.
- 2008 I organized a major family reunion which celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the High family arriving in America from Sweden.
- 2010 I took an ancestral trip to Connecticut and Massachusetts, where I visited several of the places my maternal ancestors lived.
- 2011 I embarked on an ancestral trip to Sweden, where I visited several of the places my paternal ancestors lived.
- 2014 I became the Recording Secretary Society.
- 2018 I visited the location in Edinburgh, Scotland where my 6th-great-grand- father Alexander Kerr was born in 1779.
- 2025 I completed The High Family’s Swedish Ancestors: Volume Nine – The Medieval Ancestors of Sven Hög.
